Desert Boots discontinued - Fortune Grey: Matthew Levinson
Desert Boots discontinued I’ve been looking high and low for Clark’s Desert Boots. Pacific Brands bought Clarks Shoes Australasia from the UK parent company seven years ago. At the time it was reported as having around $50 million annual sales, and the Pacific MD said it would help expand their presence in the premium segments of the children’s and adult footwear markets – really, the only premium shoe was the Clark’s Desert Boot. I emailed Pacific to find out where they were sold and was told that, “Clarks Adults Shoes are no longer manufactured by Pacific Brands Footwear.” He [suite...]

Take a trek in fall's cutest desert boots | All The Rage | Los ...
The Image staff muses on the culture of keeping up appearances If fall’s high-heeled Timberland-esque boots and wedged hiking booties are feeling far too rugged for you, the various versions being done of the desert boot might be a more palatable footwear choice. I’ve always loved classic Clarks Desert Boots for their subtle tomboy appeal and of course, the undeniable comfort factor. This season, Desert Boots (which Clarks modeled after the shoes of British officers in WWII and debuted in 1950) come in various styles such as wedges, stack heels and more sleek and feminine versions than [suite...]

Opening Ceremony M1 Desert Boot - Goods - FourThousand
Does the name Opening Ceremony ring a bell? Whether it be their profiled collaboration with Chloe Sevigny or their elite in-house brand, Opening Ceremony have definitely been around the block and back and anyone could tell you how hard it is to peel your eyes away from such sedated NYC style. I guess it was only a matter of time before the boys at the Apartment got a piece of the pie and brought out the clean, NYC austere of Opening Ceremony to Brisbane. Representing the finest threads from APC to Comme Des Garcons, Apartment now exclusively stock the much sought after M1 Desert Boot. [suite...]

Recycled Fashion: Desert boots for 'free'
Guess what blog readers, I scored myself a pair of khaki desert boots from my local op shop ..for free! Well, blog readers may remember I am de-cluttering which means a stack of stuff has been donated to my local op shop. Ah it feels great having a much clearer wardrobe. However, it would be rude not to have a sneaky nose around the oppy before I head home, I wouldn't want to miss out on anything now would I?! The op shop gods were on my side, with everything in store at half price. I've had my eye on a tan coloured vintage suitcase for a few weeks. It was $10, but remember it is half price [suite...]

calivintage: the desert boot
last winter, i had a serious need for a pair of desert boots with heels. i had long been a fan of the classic clarks flats, but i was looking for something a little less clunky and a bit more fashion forward. unfortunately, my hunting turned up with a bunch of shoes that were either way out of my price range, or just out of stock! i wrote this post about the few shoes that i came up with back in january, but since then, i am amazed by the selection available for the upcoming fall season. there are so many to choose from that i'm having a hard time picking my absolute favorite and might even [suite...]

Kitsune and Pierre Hardy Desert Boots for Autumn 2010 | Textile ...
I used to think that the sneaker colorway game was going to end as soon as it came. If youre a cranky connoisseur of the sport, you probably see the last good years somewhere around the middle of the last decade. Many would make the same argument with the traditional shoe game as well. Everything is being thrown agains the chukka, the oxfords. But occasionally something comes forward which reminds us that there is still room. This desert boot from Kitsune and Pierre Hardy may be one of those. I happen to like it. Desert Boots French Connection

The Classic Desert Boot — An Evergreen Style Statement
Celebrating an iconic item of footwear that has retained its popularity for the greater part of a century. During the Second World War, Officers of the British Eighth Army stationed in Egypt took to wearing, in their off-duty hours, simple, comfortable, roughly-fashioned crepe-soled suede boots handmade in Cairo’s Old Bazaar. The straightforward, lightweight design of these boots, partly inspired by Indian chupple sandals and Dutch Voortrekker boots, captured the imagination of Nathan Clark, of the famous Somerset family of shoe manufacturers, when he encountered them while on military [suite...]
