Aleph hotel webpage says that the architect designed the hotel to be a interpretation of Dantes Divine Comedy. The first impression is quite striking, but personally the reference to Dante wasn’t the first thing to come in mind. I only stayed for one night, so this is not very comprehensive review. More like impressions. The location is nice. One block from Via Veneto and just few blocks away from the Spanish steps and just in case you’re travelling by car, they have a valet parking. When I was in Damascus a thousand 14 years ago, a guy who was staying in my hotel told me that there was a place in town where you could buy bootleg cassettes of pretty good albums. I didn’t have time to check it out out before I carried on my way to Istanbul, so the guy told me to pick a bunch of tapes from their catalogue; he’d buy them and give them to me when he saw me in Istanbul, where he was due to arrive a couple of days after me.
