World's Oldest Surviving Song? 1400 BC
voir la vidéoIn the 1950's archaeologists uncovered a clay tablet at the site of the ancient city of Ugarit which upon investigation appeared to contain an early form of music notation. This is my interpretation of the Kilmer decipherment, made in 1972. It is a hymn to Nikaal, wife of the moon God. The way I play it, it sounds more like a fanfare than what we might recognize as a hymn, but then again we really have no idea what music back then sounded like. The words: `She let the couples have children, Because of her, they were born to their fathers And they will shout, 'She has not given birth to any child' As a true wife, why have I not borne children for you?
